I designed the logo for Vindolanda Via Roma – a fundraising drive for the Vindolanda Trust where the participants would ride their Vespa scooters from the Roman fort of Vindolanda to Rome and back.
The initial logos focussed on combining Roman elements such as shields, the Vindolanda fort and laurel wreathes, with elements of a scooter.

Development work on the winged winged Vespa shield device. I took a lot of care to make sure the design was distinct from other Roman tourist attractions in England.

I rendered the finished logo in red and blue variations for the two Vespa riders, with subtle textures.

I delivered the logo in vector format, so it could be printed as vinyl stickers for the Vespers.

I also supplied the logo in vector format, so it could be adapted for merchandising, like this small sewn patch.
