Final Hours for Exö-Squad Röknaut

Thank you to everyone from the last fortnight who’s pledged for their Exö-Squad Röknauts on Gamefound. You all rök. Your window for joining in ends tonight (Fri 28th Nov) at one-minute-to-midnight United Kingdom time!

On offer, in beautiful handcast resin, are a full set of 28mm scale miniatures of Rökthane Hurtzr Wârnug and his Exö-Squad.

To showcase how these new super-chonks will sit with your existing Space Dwarfs – here’s a side-by-side of an Exö-Squad Trooper (28.5mm base, five components) next to a Bedrök trooper (25mm base, one component).

They’re the same proportions and same scale as each other – just radically beefier armour. The core helmet designs is the same, but the eye level of the Exö-Squad is a tiny bit higher as I figured the super-armoured soles would give a small height boost.

Available to the crowdfunding crowd for the first time is the Highlander Special Edition Rökthane Toothcutter Schiltron. You can add him and his thistle-tinted Rökaber Axe to your Gamefound pledge (along with any and all of the other Röknauts). And, if you simply can’t wait then I have castings in stock today in the Ontos Games webstore.

I set a Gamefound funding target of £1,994 because here (and everywhere these Space Dwarfs are), it’s 1994. So much so that Teletext came back from the dead and ran a promotion for the Exö-Squad on Gamefound.

Tomorrow I will be at the Ontos Games stand at Battleground Wargames Show in Middlesbrough, nestled between Test of Resolve‘s Hundred Years War offerings and and Novocast‘s Solaric Empires.

I’ll have all the painted studio Röknauts in the cabinets, and because the Gamefound will have finished mere hours before the show opens I will be 100% ears for what you want to see sculpted next.

Final thank yous to everyone that’s backed the Gamefound. Special thank yous to everyone that’s shared, reskeeted, storied and social media-ed to help multiply my shouting to the mountains. Personally, seeing all your comments and buzz about the models these last two weeks has been insanely heartening after the months and months of semi-secret sculpting, painting and planning, so thank you.

Rök on!
