“None would have guessed from the quiet care with which the section installed the sunflasks in the plasmic destroyers’ frames that they contained the most brutal firepower. Just as a dragon’s egg is silent, and its shape scares not.”

Welcome all, to the Ontos Games Spring Equinox Chronicle! As the solar orb has passed over our planet’s equator, it is time to check in with the military might of the Space Dwarfs.
Reinforcements Imminent

New Röknaut Designs Coming
You will be the first of all people, dear email subscriber, to find out the details of the next Röknaut Kickstarter project. The dates are super secret, but they’re close, close, closer than two Space Dwarf siblings who are also squad members and who really like each other.
Vacuum Cast Resin
As with last time, the miniatures will be manufactured in insanely high quality vacuum cast resin that is a joy to paint from start to finish.

If you need to turn a platoon around for a tournament you’ll find the chunky structured details receive ink washes, dips and speedpaints beautifully. If you want to paint them for display, the crisp casting will be your greatest ally.
Community Showcase
Miguel VT has made a whole force of Röknauts for Sanctuary Games’ Notts Kill Team Summer Showdown. I was over the moon when I first saw these as Miguel’s really brought them to life with the contrasting secondary colours, vibrant pink trim and saturated shading glazes.

The force is bulked up to a whole Kill Team with clever conversion work and accessories from other compatible miniature ranges to make these Röknauts feel like a special ops unit loaded up with wargear. When I’m painting the studio army I am itching to tinker and modify the sculpts, and it’s great seeing Roknaut enthusiasts make the models their own like this. This force has three very different looking Rökthanes all made out of the same base miniature with some nice resculpting. Miguel’s also beaten me to the punch by taking advantage of details sculpted on the Heavy Weapon Trooper’s shoulder pad to make an axe-wielding specialist. Rest assured that axes lie in the Röknauts’ future!

This level of craftsmanship earned Miguel the silver award for Best Kill Team at the event. Check out his other paintjobs here on Insta.
Harbinger of Resin
Here are the two Röknauts you saw unpainted in the last newsletter. You will notice that the Heavy Weapons Trooper is not holding the Helstrom Autocannon from the first campaign – but a protoype of the new Plasmic Destroyer weapon from the upcoming campaign! There will be a whole new sculpt of the Heavy Weapons Trooper, and the models are designed to be assembled with either weapon so you can choose between explosive bolts and ionised plasmic bursts to rain down on your foes.

I hope that’s whetted your appetite. Keep your eyes peeled for more previews of even BIGGER toys for our small but mighty heroes to take to war! Shout it loud from your space mountain strongholds – the Röknauts are heading to battle!
Rök on!
